Thank you for your interest in adopting! We require all applicants to fill out an application and provide three references. In order to visit the horses, you must be approved, which requires the adoption application to be complete as well as checking all references.

RMR resale/rehome policies may change with each individual horse.
If you ever have the need to rehome your horse and your horse is eligible to be rehomed, in your RMR contract you must have the potential new owners be approved by RMR before finalizing a sale. New owners must also sign the RMR contract which states the same resale policy. If they ever have the need to rehome, they must follow the same protocol.
Some owners who donate horses to RMR request that their horses are only adopted to lifetime homes and we try to fulfill that request. These horses will have a no sale/return to RMR clause in their contract. If someone adopts a horse under this no resale agreement and their circumstances change, and they are no longer able to keep the horse, we request that the horse be returned to RMR and rehomed through RMR.
Other horses with a no sale/return to RMR contract will include, but not limited to, injured or at risk horses who most frequently end up in bad places.

Remember Me Racehorse Rescue also gives sanctuary to horses that are not adoptable.
Some horses have issues that make it very hard to find forever homes. Their age, past racing injuries, and the high cost of special feeds and supplements make these horses 'unwanted'. We are looking for sponsors to help us meet the needs of these aging horses by making a monthly donation in their honor. For more information on how you can help one of these special horses please email us at remembermerescue@live.com
