Rags Royl Prinzess is a 2023 filly with a promising pedigree and a bright future ahead. Rags stands just under 16hh and could likely mature around 16.1hh. Sired by Cinco Charlie, known for producing tough, durable runners, and out of Princess Z Ohsix (by Paynter), she carries bloodlines known for both talent and heart.
Even with the strong pedigree, she let her trainer know she did not want to be a racehorse, and he listened. So now she gets to enjoy some time to relax and we will start her evaluation soon!
Rags began her re-training last week with some in-hand work. She was both inquisitive and spirited and showed off just how smart she is! At just 2 years old, Rags is going to need an experienced handler to bring her along in her training. She would not be appropriate for a beginner or novice rider. This last Sunday, Rags got to go on a little field trip to Shepherds Valley Cowboy Church. She was introduced to a HUGE indoor arena, a crowd of people in the stands, a PA system that was making the craziest static sounds at times, and just a lot of activity. We were there for few hours and she was able to maintain her composure and was content with walking around and exploring and hanging out ringside with a couple of our volunteers. With some time, strong leadership, and patience, this filly is going to make someone a wonderful partner.
Rags is continuing to do well and progress in her training! She has had a handful of post track rides now, and we have been keeping everything slow and fun for her. Each time we work with her she shows us just how intelligent she is. She has hand-walked over the majority of our "big kid" obstacles and has taken some short rides through our wooded areas. This little lady retired sound from racing and is ready to finish your way!
