This horse is not just a horse, he has been donated by Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens. This was one of the horses that Gary trained in 2009 after he retired from riding. So Fierce Thunder is kind of like 'racing memorabilia'.
Gary recently returned to riding and is a big supporter of Remember Me Rescue. Since his return to riding he is not going to have quality time to spend with Thunder and asked us to find him a wonderful home. He says Fierce Thunder is a really cool horse but needs a job and requires lots of attention.
Thunder is still pretty hairy from being in Kentucky but it starting to slick off. He was ridden quite a bit after he was retired, even by young riders and was ridden over jumps. We will put him through our course and update everyone on his progress and adoption status soon.
