FANCY FORBES
Meet Fancy Forbes, our newest sanctuary horse at Remember Me Rescue. Fancy is 21 and the daughter of the great Ferdinand, the Kentucky Derby winner in 1986 who was slaughtered in Japan after his breeding career lacked the number of mares to keep him profitable.
Aging broodmares are the toughest to place. Once they are not breed able people tend to discard them. In this mares case she had a good home but her owners had fell on hard times and needed to rehome her. We stepped in now instead of finding her on a kill pen page.
Fancy Forbes will live out her days in the state she where she was foaled with people who love her and appreciate her heritage. But with that being said there is the matter of financing another permanent resident at RMR. We already have two permanent residents, 33 year old Yeah Me Do and 17 year old Be Bop Baby from the Many, LA rescue.
We need your help.
A one time donation can be made is honor of Fancy or you can sign up with a monthly donation by joining TEAM RESTART. Just name Fancy, (or Yammi or Be Bop), as the horse to be honored with your monthly donation.
Please help us in supporting our newest permanent resident, Ferdinands daughter, FANCY FORBES
