Remember Me Rescue is a Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance Accredited 501(c)3 organization specializing in rehabilitating, retraining and rehoming retired racehorses.
Deputiformer is a Canadian bred Thoroughbred foaled in 2005. He is a true warhorse having raced 79 times. He won 16 times, including the Cup and Saucer Stakes at his hometown racetrack, Woodbine.
Deputiformer set the track record at Evangeline by running 1 1/16 mile on the turf in 1 minute and 40 seconds. He was trained by Dallas and Donna Keen during a portion of his racing career. Deputiformer earned $631,759 during his career.
Deputiformer loves people, Wyatt (Donna’s horse), carrots and rolling in his paddock. If you come for a tour, he’s the first horse you’ll meet!
Deputiformer was a little spoiled at the track. He really enjoyed being a racehorse. Although he wasn't always the easiest to train, when he found an exercise rider he liked he was a lot of fun. Two of his favorite riders were both girls, Caro Quast and Trisha Bishop.
Deputiformer was a beast. He was big, strong and at times a little intimidating. He took race day very seriously. He was always on his best behavior but was 'on the muscle' and required very experienced handlers.
We are so happy that Deputiformer's journey landed him at Remember Me. He will remain here as a sanctuary horse and live out the remainder of his life surrounded by people who love him.
