Remember Me Rescue is a Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance Accredited 501(c)3 organization specializing in rehabilitating, retraining and rehoming retired racehorses.
Straight Eddie is a 11 year old gelding who stands 16.3 hands tall. Eddie is a big ole sweetheart but he didn't get off to such a great start. Eddie was part of the 2012 Many, Louisiana rescue from Charles Ford's farm. He was one of a dozen or so horses that RMR took in. Severely emaciated doesn't begin to explain the condition these horses were in. Fortunately Eddie recovered from his poor condition and bloomed into a BIG beautiful boy.
He was adopted late 2012 but the young lady who adopted him had lost interest in riding. She returned him to RMR in 2019 for us to rehome. He was adopted again but the alpha gelding at his new home was fighting with him so he was returned again. Last year we thought he had finally found his forever home but it didn't work out either.
This horse deserves his forever home!! He is gentle to handle, easy to ride although still only direct reins, and has no bad habits or vices. He is currently in quarantine but will be ready for visitors soon.
