Trumans Bet is a 2 year old, unraced gelding. He stands 15.3 hands but will mature to well over 16 hands. Truman has been ridden western and English. He has a very good mouth and is very supple. He hasn't made a mistake during his retraining. He is quiet to saddle and is very easy to bridle. He is good with the clippers and stands for a bath and the farrier. Truman also stands quietly to mount and dismount. He is well on his way to being a great horse. Please watch the videos and you will see what I mean. He has a great brain!
A little history on Truman...
Truman was injured in an early training incident and after a few months of rehab his owner decided it would be better for Truman if he had an easier job, especially since he wasn't showing a lot of interest in being fast anyway.
Truman was x-rayed in February and had a fracture in each knee and a chip in his ankle. He was given 2 months rest and then x-rayed again in April. One knee was almost completely healed, the other needed a little more time, but the chip would need to be taken out for Truman to have a career racing. The decision was made to donate him to RMR so he could have a little more rehab time before finding an easy career that would not require him to have surgery.
Well, after another 6 weeks of rest at RMR, we took Truman to have more xrays to make sure the knees were healed. They looked great and should not be a problem for him to go on to a successful second career. The chip, however, would restrict him from a performance type career, but his prognosis would be unlimited if the chip was removed.
We made the decision to schedule Truman for surgery on Tuesday, July 12th. The surgery was successful and the chip was removed. Now, he has completed his rehabilitation and is currently in training to learn the skills he will need to have a very successful second career with no limitations on what he can do.
He is currently available for adoption. Please email email@example.com for an application.
