Remember Me Rescue is a Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance Accredited 501(c)3 organization specializing in rehabilitating, retraining and rehoming retired racehorses.
Doctor Do Little is a 3 year old black thoroughbred gelding. He was donated by his racing connections to Remember Me on April 13th. His trainer reported that he had a knee chip in his upper joint so we had it x-rayed. Due to the location of the chip and the limitations he would have if it wasn't removed, we chose to do surgery. Dr. Gilchrist from Lone Star Park Equine Hospital performed the surgery and it went very well. Before the surgery both knees and both ankles were x-rayed and he was clean in all other joints.
After his surgery Doctor Do Little was brought to Remember Me for rehab and hand walking. On June 17th we had the knee x-rayed again to see how it was healing. It was even better than expected and his prognosis for a long, productive second career is very good.
Doctor Do Little has begun his retraining and is now available for adoption.
