Hit A Lick was surrendered to RMR on March 12, 2021. He was injured in his last race at Zia Park in December after a long successful racing career with 44 starts and earnings of more the $200,000. His owner and trainer thought they gave him to a good home. Thankfully, the new owner contacted us after she found out he could not be ridden for a very long time, or maybe never, and she brought him to us.
Hit A Lick has a broken sesamoid. It was not properly rehabilitated at the most crucial time and now we are not sure if he will be ridable after his rehabilitation. It will be evaluated in early June and decisions will be made concerning his future. We hope he will able to do more than be a companion horse. We have seen great things happen here with proper care and time off to heal so we will give him all the care he needs to fully recuperate.
If you can help us with Hit A Lick's expenses while he is rehabilitating at Remember Me Rescue please make a donation in his honor. He is a special horse and we want to give him every oppertunity to successful recover.
